Last summer we told you that several employees of Toledo Teachers Credit Union's Bella Vista Branch were under investigation after they had allegedly mismanaged monies and falsely made and drawn down on bogus loans to members.

Today, three of those employees were charged. 39 year old Manuel Cucul, a police officer, was charged with abetment to commit theft. He had reportedly made several unauthorized cash withdrawals over the course of several months in 2022.

26 year old Herman Cal and 24 year old Kevin Sam were charged with one count of theft each. They were both accused of processing and approving loan applications without the member's signature and supporting documentation. Cal would then reportedly receive fraudulent and unauthorized "payments" from member accounts. Same had also reportedly made several unauthorized withdrawals from members' accounts after the loans were dispersed.

We note that the former Branch Manager - who was the alleged ringleader - has not been charged.
