Budna's case has also been criticized by opposing counsel for having no real witnesses. But Sadldivar insists that there are witnesses who saw what happened on the night Budna was abducted, August 22, 2025:

"Wait no man, this matter will not be tried here and now this matter has to be tried in a court of law if so permitted. So I am saying the cover up is clear and the only reason for the cover up is because those persons who acted did not act without official sanction. The coverup is coming from the government so if they did not have officially sanction there would be no impetuous of interest in covering it up. And that should alarm the Belizean people."
