In other crime news, earlier this month we reported that charges had been brought for various acts of fraud carried out against residents of Bella Vista through rogue employees at the Toledo Teachers Credit Union branching that village. Three of those employees were charged, and yesterday we asked the area representative for his views on the situation. He says he is glad it's over.

Dr Osmond Martinez, Minister of State for Foreign Trade
"No I am very happy that that situation is coming to a closure we need to, however has made any mistake then let it be charged and I am in full support of it, in addition to that I will be delighted to see that file comes to a close but not more, I believe the authorities are doing their job and that is what we are looking for"

Reporter:
"Notably no charges were brought against a former branch manager who was allegedly the mastermind and is now an employee of the government of Belize. Do you know if more charges will be brought?"

Dr Osmond Martinez, Minister of State for Foreign Trade
"I don't know I don't have that evidence but I know he was charged."

We note that the alleged ringleader - now a government employee - has not been charged.
