Woman Shot As She Slept In La Democracia Home

Police are investigating a shooting incident in Mahogany Heights Village that left a 26-year-old Abreanna Ramsey injured early this morning.

Around 2:30 a.m.officers responded to reports of gunshots and discovered a wooden bungalow-style home with visible bullet holes. Police later learned that Ramsey had sustained a gunshot injury and was taken to the Western Regional Hospital for treatment.

Initial investigations indicate that she and others were asleep inside the house around 2:00 a.m. when gunfire erupted, and a family member later found her injured. Police investigations continue.
