A team of 34 missionaries from the Church of Incarnation in Dallas, Texas fed one thousand children today and by the time they leave on Tuesday, they hope to have performed dental extractions on those same thousand kids, build a fence, furnish a library, and in their downtime work with teachers on literacy and stage a play. That'll all be done over the next three days. They arrived yesterday and today they were at the staging ground for their work in Belize: Queen Square Anglican School. Fr. Bob Johnston is leading the missionaries and he told us why they are here.

Carol Babb, General Manager - Anglican Schools
"We have a partnership, the Anglican Church has a partnership with the Episcopal Churches in the United States and every year we have a number of people coming down to share their resources and whatever technical skills they have."

Fr. Bob Johnston, Church of Incarnation
"We down on a short term mission trip where we've got lots of different things we're doing here, working with the school. We're feeding one thousand kids and we've got a construction project going where we're working on a security wall in the back. We've got some dental education going, we've got what they call Godly Play, which is a form of Christian education. So it's a lot of different activities going on around the campus. We feel like that part of the command of Christ is for us to be involved in the world, loving our neighbors and not only our neighbors in Dallas but around the world."

The group returns to Dallas, Texas on Tuesday.
