This summer the New Generation Dance Company will attempt to do something few have ever done before. The 27 member performing troop of high school students will become fulltime dancers for the summer as they go on an ambitious nationwide tour. The dancing begins this Saturday at the Ladyville Community Center. The dance company's CEO is Joseph Stamp and he says the tour will accomplish two things.

Joseph Stamp, New Generation Dancers Co.
"We want take the dancers across Belize and getting them exposed and also getting them jobs in different places, performing and making the summer profitable for themselves, in a small way but nonetheless."

Keith Swift,
What will be seeing?

Joseph Stamp,
"Different pieces from New Generation. Choreography that I came up with, choreography from members of the dance company also. There will be skits too, singing, and everything we do apart from dancing will be put on stage.

Its something big because a lot of them are really psyched about it, they are really excited about it. Everybody wants to go out and perform. And also it's a way, like I said earlier, for them to make some money. They won't make a lot of money off it but it's a way for them to buy something for themselves for school and also to stay positive during the summer.

I think people should come out and support the young people, especially in a time like this when Belize is really in a uproar with young people getting involved in all types of different things so it's a positive thing I am trying to do. The young people of this company are really looking for support from parents, from friends, and everybody."

Saturday's show will be staged at the Ladyville Community Center. The tour ends in august with an anniversary performance in the city.
