The season of pageants is officially here. In the next two weeks about half a dozen or so queens will be chosen in pageants across the country. Our first line-up for this week are the 5 young ladies who want to be the next Miss Ladyville. It is more a fundraising venture for the Ladyville Village Council than it is a beauty pageant. We met the contestants yesterday.
Kayla Requena,
"My name is Kayla Requena and I am representing the magnificent area of Vista Del Mar...I thought I could have fun and get to know the girls more
because I go to school with one of them so I thought that would be fun."
Nicole Grinage,
"I am Nicole Grinage and I am representing the beautiful area of Beverly Hills in Lord's Bank...I entered this contest because it is a way to show how a young lady can be both beautiful and intelligent at the same time...it is not only Belize that has beautiful girls, the villages are also made up of beautiful young ladies."
Janine,
"My name is Janine representing the beautiful area of Mitchell Estate."
The pageant will be held next Saturday night. The girls are still very much in need of sponsors and you can help out by contacting the Ladyville Village Council. Tomorrow night we'll introduce you to the Miss Belmopan Queen of the Bay contestants and later this week you'll meet the young ladies who want to be the 2006 queen of carnival.
