He was a teacher and now works at the Income Tax Department, but today Kendis Ferguson re-invented himself as a published poet. After 8 months of compiling the best in a lifetime of writings Kendis Ferguson published his collected works in a book of poetry cleverly called "he-motions." And true enough, it's not every day that a man puts it all out there and Ferguson told us why he has.
Kendis Ferguson, Poet
"This book is something that I've been working on for many many years. I've actually compiled different writings that I have done from as far back as high school days, early 90s. I have made it very very serious efforts to try to encompass just about every single aspect of life. So while a number of the pieces stress on the social and cultural impacts in Belize and in the world in total, we have many that are about national, nature, social love, we have a number of love pieces, we have reflective pieces, and I have a number of pieces that are just a celebration of respect for women and all that they've contributed to society, to us, to men."
The book is available at the Angelus Press, Brodies, and Daker's and Belmopan.
