Marcelino Miranda, Public relations officer at the Mexican Embassy
"We are sharing with the Belizean media a tradition in Mexico, its a very good tradition actually, we celebrate the kings day and this tradition comes from ancient times and it was something that was originated in Roman times and was adopted by Christianity and it celebrates the epiphany, that is the revelation of Jesus and in Mexico we celebrate the arrival the three kings who brought gifts to Jesus, this is a religious story about this and then it became very popular in Mexico because it was a moment in which children get presents and also family and friends and colleague workers get together and they share a special bread that is bake only for this time of the year in Mexico. This is the Rosca De Reyes - the king's bread. Its kinds fun because inside the bread there are little figurines just to remembrance of Jesus Christ so all the members of the party cut a slice. If you get a slice with one of the figurines then you have to invite your friends for Mexican tamales for February 2."

In Mexico the Christmas season is celebrated from the 25th of December to the second of February.
The season ends On February 2nd with a candle mask celebration.
