At the top of the news, we showed you our sit-down interview with Irma Dyer, wife of Fareed Ahmad, the well-known barber from Hattieville.

This is the first public comment she has made since her husband was murdered back in December 2017. And while Christmas is a time of cheer for Belizean families, for Ahmad's loved ones and friends, it is bittersweet. They are reminded that 3 years ago around this time, he was killed. At the request of his wife, several of his friends recorded video testimonials of their interaction with Ahmad. Here are a few snippets:

Claudia Flowers - Friend "The first time I met Fareed was in a classroom. I heard him first before I even saw him, he was debating his point and that's one thing I learnt about Reed when he feels strongly about anything or any situation, he will hold his ground and defend whatever he believes in. He also had this contagious laugh that makes anybody around him laugh."

Edgar Flowers - Friend "When I think about my brother Fareed, first word that comes to mind is iconic. In my view, he was a young bright, full of life. We've known each other for 20 years and for me, his loss hit me deep, he was so much more than a brother to me, he was an extraordinary dad, loved family so much."

Andre Alvarado - Friend "We use to have fun with sports, playing games together, working at the shop and he taught me a lot of stuff and I will never forget him and he is someone that is very outspoken, outstanding and he is someone that is good for a community."

Christopher Reid - friend "I've known Fareed for the past 15 plus years and within that 15 plus years, me and Fareed became close friends where we use to practically be together every weekend doing games at the barber shop, doing referee training together. He was like a big brother to me, I look at him as a big brother because he carries himself that way, as a big brother, so that's Fareed."
