And hopefully the sargassum and the shortage is under control by the time Easter rolls around. It's only a month away, but Caye Caulker - one of the main tourist destinations - is ready for the crowd after the pandemic pause. The chairlady told us that most hotels are already booked.

"We are seeing bookings already. I know some hotels saying that they are filled to capacity and we still have some availabilities, but you do have to look. I believe that the island will be in full swing, people want to get out a little bit and with the extreme heat that we're experiencing across the country, people are looking for the beaches, so we are ready to take on the crowd."
"We're very grateful for whatever tourism we get local and international. Everybody have work right now and there is that little buzz that we've been lacking. Its gives us some encouragement to continue to work and do what we offer in the hospitality industry, so we appreciate whatever visitors come to the island."
After Easter, Caye Caulker then gets ready for the LobsterFest in June/July.
