William Dawson - he was a peacemaker whose dream was to hold a peace march where residents from across the Southside would be able to come together. And even though he has passed away, his dream came alive this evening with a march in his honor through the streets of Belize City. It started on Mahogany Street and ended at Battlefield Park, after which those who had anything to say in remembrance of Dawson could take to the stage and share a few words.
And according to one of the coordinators, who works at the LIU, the turnout was more than she expected and the energy was everything Dawson embodied. We spoke to her a short while ago:
Over 100 persons participated in the peace march.
