St George's Caye Day Moved Back To The 10th

And finally tonight, last month we reported that 2024 would have 6 three day weekends. Well, that has just been dropped to five.

A recent update to the holiday list shows that St George's Caye Day has been moved from the 9th to the 10th. This presumably comes after the St George's Caye Day Society's complaints about observing the day on the 9th - which was a Monday.

Initially, the minister had justified the move, saying that it wasn't the first time it had been changed. But regardless, now, it will be observed on the Tuesday.

But that wasn't the only change. The new list omits Easter Sunday as a holiday. While most establishments are closed on Sunday, it will be treated as a normal business day for those that remain open.
