And while that company is distributing car boxes, the St. John's Soup Kitchen was giving out Christmas Dinner today.
The kitchen was abuzz today with hungry patrons and hard working hosts in the kitchen serving out more than 300 plates of turkey dinner. Reverend Lynda Moguel told us why the Christmas Lunch goes a long way:
Rev. Lynda Moguel
"This is an initiative of the soup kitchen when we try to feed over three hundred persons with a Christmas dinner. And these things that we serve are donated from different sources. We have the juice donated from a company, the turkeys are donated and the members of the soup kitchen cook them and those who can carve like my friend here does it. The rice and beans, everything is cooked by members of the soup kitchen. They serve soup the whole year and then at Christmas there is the special turkey dinner. And they take the initiative of making sure that enough is there to do at least three hundred meals. And we give to the old and young, we give the elderly and we give the school children. Both high school and from the Primary school."

"What's the importance of wanting to give back to the community every year making sure that they atleast have a meal around Christmas time."

Rev. Lynda Moguel
"Oh yes that is very important because we know that many people will not have a meal at Christmas of this kind they may have something to eat if our neighbors are kind we should live in unity with our neighbors and out of love we should be able to give those who may not have and because we know some may not have we start by giving."
