At 26 years old - O'Neil Saint Aubyn Simpson has a Bachelor's Degree in history and modern languages, a post graduate degree in education, a graduate diploma in business administration, and he is working on his law degree. And that's just what he's done in the classroom.

Outside of school, Simpson is acclaimed in dance and music and...he edged out students from schools like Harvard and Yale University to win the 2006 public speaking championship. Indeed Simpson is a model student which is why the University of the West Indies' Cave Hill Campus has hired him as their ambassador at large. His job is to spread the news about all things good at UWI. The goodwill ambassador is in Belize on a four day visit and this morning he met with students at St. John's College Junior College. He says his message is simple: he excelled at the University of the West Indies and so can any other student.

O'Neil Simpson, UWI Ambassador at Large
"The Caribbean is an intellectual space, it is not just a tourist hotspot, it is an intellectual academic space and Caribbean people are brilliant and creative people who within the context of both academic space and academic spaces otherwise, can do and are doing exceedingly well across the world.

My real thing that I want persons to take away from this experience is the fact that it is possible and that it is within their scope and capacity to accomplish things if they set their minds to it and set themselves to it and to diligently work, not necessarily hard but smart about what they want to accomplish."

You can catch Simpson at the University of the West Indies' School of Continuing Studies on Saturday morning. He leaves on Sunday.
