Teachers Will Protest in Corozal

One group that won't be joining the protestors in Belmopan in any official capacity is the National Teachers Union. The group met in emergency session to consider participating in Friday's protest. As we've reported, Friday is also Teachers' Day and the BNTU had recreation activities planned for Corozal Town.

But in view of the public interest protests, the union's national executive had to re-consider. They did and voted not to join the protestors in Belmopan. But, for whatever its worth, a BNTU release says it will stage its own protest and demonstration in Corozal Town.
