And of course, the BNTU leadership isn't able to say much before going back to its membership. While the minister said it seemed like the union was satisfied with the outcome of the meeting, the acting president says it all depends on what the results of the survey are when they poll their membership.

Jorge Mejia, Acting President, BNTU

"We want to share that we had a very informative and respectful meeting, we had timelines and we had slight agreements that we need to go back now to our membership to see if there's satisfied with the outcome of today's meeting and from there on we will inform you all what will be our next step."

Reporter:
"Would you say then that the tension have been diffused?"

Jorge Mejia, Acting President, BNTU
"Only our members will tell us because at the end of the day this body represent our members so we need to go back to our membership and inform them if there are satisfied or not satisfied then we will see what we will do next."

Courtney Menzies:
"Do you feel like the channels of communication between the ministry and the union are open and clear because the minister mentioned that he pointed out that when you guys have issues you should immediately contact the ministry."

Jorge Mejia, Acting President, BNTU
"We always have an open communication with the ministry and we will continue to collaborate with any stakeholder and we're always open to dialogue with any stakeholder that our members have issues and we will continue in that fashion."

The BNTU will be having membership meetings across the country on Monday.
