And in the meantime, the minister seems to be hard at work securing eyes and boots to carry out much-needed forest monitoring and a slew of other Environmental protections.
It's a task for which his ministry has appointed 29 park rangers to be special constables.
Those constables were honored today after graduating from an intensive P.A.C.T. training program carried out by members of The police department, The National Biodiversity Office, and the legal counsel within Habet's Ministry.

The Special constables have been trained in the application of Green Laws and equipped with knowledge of key concepts and techniques such as evidence collection, chain of custody, procedures, and case file preparation.
Butane Price Increase As of midnight, the price of your cooking gas will go up.
The wholesale price of Liquified Petroleum Gas, known as "Butane", will now be $3.59 cents per gallon.
The retail price for a 1-hundred-pound tank of LPG in the urban areas is now $118 dollars. The retail price in rural areas of the country $120 dollars.
Explaining the increase, Jose Trejo, the Controller of Supplies, says quote, "As the winter months wane, the monthly increase in March is due to a tempered increase in acquisition prices in the US Gulf Coast." End quote.
And Old Soldier's Solution
Earlier this month, Minister of Defence, Florencio Marin Jr unveiled several infrastructural improvements at Price Barracks. This came after a tour of the military bases.
As a former soldier, he knows the difficulty the BDF has in carrying out his duties so he told us today his main goal is to ensure that their wellbeing is taken care of.
Hon. Florencio Marin - Minister of Defense "I don't know if I could make the work any easier, patrolling is different, believe I know that. But upon coming in the first thing that we looked at was the installations and the whole issue of the soldiers' welfare and in our conclusion at the ministry, welfare is the number one priority for the term that I will be there, however long I am there. We have to look after our soldiers so that they can do their work effectively and efficiently, patrolling our borders and as well for our Coast Guard patrolling the maritime waters as well. There's many aspects of this, we have to look at the installations of Price Barracks and it's camp, a lot of work needs to be done, we need to review the equipment being used, we have some issues with that currently. We also need to look at the overall welfare of them in terms of the hospital there on the camp, so it's a myriad of issues that we have that we need to just work on and push on everyday and hope to achieve that objective very soon."
