They started out as a military weapon, but drones have been democratised - they'r Erin common use for video producers and even recreation hobbyists.
But have you ever thought that drones could work for conservation?
Well, that's just what they'll be doing for the Audubon society, flying high and getting into those hard-to-reach places where poachers and seasonal violaters hide there catches.
But before the drones can get up in the air the men working in conservation will have to learn to pilot them, Here's that story all the way from P.G.

Mordacayo Mis
"In this day and age using the drone is very strategic because it is very effective as it is right now, we do most of our patrols and also surveillance the old fashioned way you know traditionally with man on the ground, with these drones it's gonna be more cost-effective, you know, efficient, and with the data collected we can also gather a lot of information, and with these drones they can traverse in certain areas that we cannot reach so we can use these drones to curb illegal activities within the protected area, some of the illegal activities that can happen within the protected area is fishing out of season, sometimes you have fold going around out of season where we cannot reach harvesting illegal, out of season, like the fish products out of season, the lobster, and what they tend to do is they extract these produces and they would hide it within mangroves where we cannot really access. So, what we can do now with these drones because the drones that we're using are waterproof drones so we can have eyes where we can't actually reach in person, so that's going to be very effective."

Kevin Tsou, Employee, Audubon Society.
"Actually the drone is a swell-pro drone so it's a waterproof drone that you can actually use in most of the time the marine field, however, in terms of terrestrial it's not the best or the most suitable one but you can also use it, for the use of drone for the terrestrial for monitoring, you can use it to do different monitoring of wildlife species and also people have been using it for different habitat mappings and also to look at the boundary lines across the protected areas."
"This is the first time having the control of the drones and we get to know the safety of using the drones, also what are the different features so we are actually planning to do more practice in the field and if it is possible we will also be using it for publicity to let people know about the importance of protected areas and the importance of conservation."
