COP26 may have started with a bang but it ended with a bit of a disappointing whimper. That came with tears in the eyes of COP President Alok Sharma as he apologized for what he called deep disappointment in some of the conference's agreements and in the way the process unfolded.

Still, speaking tonight from COP's plenary which remains in session, he said that protecting the Glasgow package, a package which concludes the outstanding elements of the Paris rule book is vital.

And that's where we are having made not large strides but small moves towards the target of 1.5. The people behind even those small vital moves are the negotiators, diplomats, technocrats, and environmental engineers who have toiled through bilateral meetings and late-night COP sessions to deliver that very vital package.

Tonight Cherisse Halsall introduces you to some of the unsung heroes on Belize's team.
