A newly renovated Fisheries Ranger Station is expected to be inaugurated later this month, but back on December 15th, 2021, PACT along with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Development and Housing, the Central Building Authority, Fisheries Department and TIDE headed out to Hunting Caye to see the completed work. It is part of the $1.15 million dollar agreement between Fisheries and PACT entitled "Improving the Management of the Marine Reserve Network." Fisheries Officer, Adriel Castenda, spoke on the new renovations.
The 3-year plan involves improved infrastructure at Bacalar Chico, Caye Caulker, South Water Caye, Sapodilla Cayes, and Glovers Reef Headquarters, as well as the improved pier at the Fisheries Headquarters in Belize City.
