And we also got an update from the Stann Creek West area rep, on the Alta Vista situation. We told you that one resident had been clearing some land to plant teak, which contaminated the water supply since the dam was located on his property.
Yesterday, Rodwell Ferguson told us the plans for the village's water supply.
Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Transport
"I was the one who alerted the Ministry of Environment and so for the last two months, they had the Forestry Department who went down and likewise the Environment to look at the whole situation. A meeting was held I think Thursday of last week with the developer and they all come to terms and he agree that he is going to build them a temporary system and run the water from the different source. So that is in process right now as we speak."
Reporter:
"And so what's happening in the meantime with the water though because it's dirty?"
Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Transport
"Well the Ministry of Rural Development provide the village with water temporary until such time."
