And turning back now to the tragic death of 15-year-old Kassman Gill in October of 2021….he is the teenager who became a victim of random gun violence on Belize City's streets.
But even though months have passed his father Cecil Gill can't get the closure he seeks.
Gill has been trying to get a second, more thorough report on the events surrounding his son's death at the KHMH back in 2021.
Here's what he told us today about why he continues to feel that the hospital's negligence ultimately cost Kassman his life:
Cecil Gill, Kassman Gill's Father

"What happened, when my son died, I needed answers. When that failure I was not notified either until the morning when I made a visit and saw my son's comatose situation. Now, I asked for an investigation with the quality control board and we had a meeting in that meeting no one who was present the night of that failure was there only Ms Bennett who they claim was in charge of the ward I further requested the log or the report for a number of days leading up to that 18th night, I did get that and in that report, it contradicted what they told me in the quality control meeting that we had. So they lied to me."
"After all that and you're in shock, you in a state of shock during that time and with clarity of mind I requested another report in September of last year, I asked for dates leading up to his death from the 18th of September 2021 to the sixth of October 2021. I visited the hospital and I enquired why was it taking so long, they told me when it was ready they would call me. I made a second visit in December of last year and they told me that they do not have my request so upon asking Mrs Gongora for a further investigation and another meeting with them she told me they cannot do that, either they can't or they won't."
"So, that day I made another request. I filled out another form and presently I haven't heard from them as yet you know I am of the opinion that something went wrong on the 18th of September 2021. The negligence on the part of Karl Heusner."
"I think it's criminal, I think it's criminal."
Cherisse Halsall:
"Do you have any intentions to sue the hospital for what you claim is negligence? I am, I have talked to several lawyers."
Cecil Gill, Kassman Gill's Father
"Basically this is pro bono stuff so I guess that's why the interest isn't there."
Since this interview, Gill has indicated that the hospital has told him that they will call him to pick up the requested record when they are ready.
We also sought comment from C.E.O. Chandra Cansino. She says quote: "We have been through the entire quality assurance investigation with Kassman's parents along with the entire medical team and answered all of their questions. I will follow up [on this report]. We continue to pray for the family and we are here to support in any way possible." End quote.
