If you have Oscar Mayer or Louis Rich chicken breast cuts and strips in your refrigerator, check it closely because it may be contaminated and unfit for consumption.

That is the warning from BAHA - the Belize Agricultural Health Authority. There is a fear that the product might be contaminated with bacteria which can cause a condition called Listeriorsis. It causes flu like symptoms but it is a potentially deadly infection. The warning was first issued in the U.S. back in February but for reasons unknown it was just announced in Belize today.

So how do you know if your Oscar Mayer or Louis Rich is safe to eat? Well the chicken breast cuts and strips with the "used by May 28th 2007" date are the batch believed to be contaminated. They also carry the establishment number P19676.
