Tonight the standoff at between the doctors and the administrators at the KHMH remains in effect. The Executive of the Medical and Dental Union did meet with the Labor Commissioner at noon today. But that’s not the end of it. On Monday morning, the wider membership of the union will also meet with the commissioner. And then on Monday afternoon at 2:00 the Union Executive will meet the KHMH Board of Directors in a meeting which will be mediated by the Labor Commissioner. After that we’ll have a better idea if there are hopes of a reconciliation in sight.

But then we’ll also know what are the findings of an initial report into specific allegations of wrongdoing raised by the Leader of the Opposition at last week’s House sitting.

Late word is that the initial report which was commissioned by the Prime Minister to be finished by Friday – was not finished at 5:00 pm – but the three member group has committed to finishing later this evening. Senior staff in the Prime Minister’s office confirmed that it will be handed to the PM as soon as he returns from New York tomorrow morning. We expect that the results will be known by Monday.
