And while that’s what the public feels, what about Doctor John Sosa? You may not know this, but the man who’s leading the charge against what he sees as corruption at the KHMH is from a strong UDP family. And in fact, from what we could tell in the run up to the 2008 general election, he energetically supported the UDP. So what’s up with him now putting the UDP through all this political bombast? That’s what folks have been asking us, and so that’s what we asked him yesterday.

Doc I’ll ask you something many people have been asking me about you, you are a big UDP, how you the embarrass your government like this? That is a question many people are asking me.

“I am not embarrassing a government, I am saying value for money. People pay tax, poor people can’t go to Medical Associates or Universal wherever – they have to go to KHMH. Value for money. What I put my money in, I want you to give me back good value. I don’t want you to go buy something which cost $10 for one hundred and instead of ten patients getting that thing only one patient can get it. That is not right and not fair to patients. The bottom line here is patient care. We are patient care providers. Patients come first and that is the bottom line.”
Sosa is Belize’s only neurologist.
