And while students will be able to go back to school, some police recruits have had to take a break from the academy. Currently two officers from intake 95 have been infected with the virus. This is contrary to previous unconfirmed reports saying that there was an outbreak at the training academy. The ComPol clarified that the recruits are no longer at the academy, and the two patients are currently in isolation.

Chester Williams, Commissioner Of Police

"There was no outbreak at the training academy. We did have a cook who sell at the academy and she fell, because she had hit on something and she was taken to the hospital, but as you know the protocols at the hospital, she had to undergo a covid19 test and so that was done and the test result came back positive. The cook did not display any symptoms, so what the news media reported that the cook fell because of covid19, that was not true. Subsequent to that what we did was to have all those persons who came into contact with the cook do their swabbing and yesterday we received the results of those swabbings and 2 recruits tested positive from out of the crowd that was swabbed, but you would know that the recruits have left the academy from last week and so they are not at the academy and those 2 recruits are in isolation recovering."
