The doors of the Western Regional Hospital's Acute Psychiatric Unit are reopening after facing challenges due to the pandemic. The unit provides critically important services for mentally ill patients who become acutely ill and cannot be managed at home or within their community.

It is housed on the grounds of the Western Regional Hospital.
