And in the south, the Punta Gorda Hospital stood in solidarity with their fellow medical professionals across the country. Our colleagues at PGTV spoke with a lab technician as well as a pharmacist - who explained that the lack of supplies like reagents and medication is countrywide.

Elwin Rodriguez, Med Lab Tech, PG Hospital

"We want to express our solidarity with our fellow nurses and doctors. As healthcare workers as well we can identify with them, because just like them in the lab we are working under poor conditions when it comes to reagents, when it comes to equipment. The lab techs are also burnt out as they were saying, we are tired, we've been working extra hours and we understand the call for the ministry and for the country to recognize the efforts that the nurses and doctors have done and I must say the medical laboratory professionals have done as well."

Dorla Williams, Pharmacist, PG Hospital

"We have not been paid our overtime and there are so many other issues at the moment. At the pharmacy we are short of medications, we don't have basic medications like for chronic patients. It just keeps getting worse. We want improvement, we want better for our patients. We are tired of explaining to them that we don't have medications that they need and they have to go purchase it at the pharmacy - people keep complaining they don't have money. People just keep going home and coming back without taking medications and they get worse."
