They were missing at sea for more than a day but Kendra Schofield and Errol Jacobs Jr. are safe tonight. Errol Jacobs Jr. was the captain of the “Sen Sen Cooler” and Schofield - who is an American national – was his passenger. The two left Glover’s Reef Atoll enroute to Dangriga to do some shopping on Monday morning at 6.
The boat never arrived in Dangriga and a coordinated search by the Coast Guard, BATSUB, and the Port Authority turned up no sign of the pair or of the “Sen Sen cooler.” Hope was fading when the search was called off last night but this morning at 9, Jacobs and Schofield contacted authorities and told them they were in Roatan Honduras.
Jacobs says the compass malfunctioned and that is what sent them off course. He is repairing the compass and when that is done, he’ll return to the sea for the 7 hour trip back to Glover’s Reef Atoll.
