There is a group of Brazilians here in Belize for a one week visit, and no they’re not here to play football, rather they are agricultural experts. The group’s mission in Belize is to promote development in grains, beans, soy, rice, corn, and citrus. The delegation will be going on visits and consultations out in the fields around the country. They will also be working on a technical cooperation program proposal followed by the signing of a Memorandum at the end of the week.
CARICOM Team Sharing Tips on Drug Prevention in Teens
While Brazilians are here to help with our agriculture, a team of experts from CARICOM are to assist in preventing drug abuse, especially among teenagers. The CARICOM secretariat has built a team of experts to provide support to the National Drug Abuse Control Council. The team is expected to arrive on July 7th and will launch a three-day program for the NDACC to show them a more strategic approach to illegal substance control. Belize is one of many CARICOM member countries that are being targeted for technical support in drug rehabilitation and prevention.
