Earlier in the news, we told you about Prime Minister John Briceno's trip to Guatemala City for bilateral talks with President Alejandro Giammattei. Well, there's a bit more news on bilateral relations between both countries.
A government press release says that His Excellency Jose Alpuche, Belize's Ambassador to Guatemala, presented his letters of credentials to the Guatemalan President yesterday during a ceremony at the National Palace of Culture in Guatemala City.
In his remarks, President Giammattei emphasized Belize and Guatemala's shared vision of expanding and deepening all aspects of the bilateral relations between the two nations, as well as a desire for greater collaboration on regional and international issues.
As Belize's chief representative in Guatemala, Ambassador Alpuche will be tasked with implementing the government's foreign and trade policies with that nation. He succeeds Ambassador Alexis Rosado whose tour of duty concluded on March 24, 2021.
