So, both Belize and the US are experiencing migratory pressures they are getting too many migrants, and we are losing too many semi - skilled and skilled laborers to the US. And while It's a hemispheric phenomenon in which our two nations can find common cause, we differ vastly on Israel.
The US supports, funds and arms the Israelis in the Gaza conflict while Belize suspended diplomatic ties with Tel Aviv.

Uzra Zeya, U.S. Under Secretary

"The U.S. is absolutely committed to addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of supporting and recognizing Israel's right to self-defense, but consistent with international humanitarian law in containing the conflict to ensure that it does not spread and create a broader regional conflagration. And this includes responding to the very dangerous escalation in attack by Houthi militias, which very recently included an attack on a Belizean flagged vessel."
"And I see a great deal of convergence between US and Belizean concern for the Palestinian people and ultimately towards reaching a two state solution."
Belize this week joined 52 states in presenting at an ICJ hearing on the legality of Israel's occupation of Palestine.
