And moving about a mile west we asked Moody about the very pot-hole ridden area near the Lord Ridge Cemetery.
He said repairs on that are planned - but they will only be superficial because a bigger project is in the works for that highway:
Evondale Moody, Chief Engineer - MIDH

"So that's why I was trying to hold back from doing any significant works within that section of the highway, because we don't want to go and expend funds that will have to be destroyed when the project comes along. So with that section within the new project that we have for the George Price Highway, we're supposed to widen that entire section and have also constructed sidewalks and drains from the cemetery all the way to tie into the roundabout at Faber's road."
"So that is within the bigger project. And so what we're going to do temporarily is just basically to do a surface crossing over that section because we really would not want to put hot mix because that's a waste of important funds. And so the idea is that we're going to try to do that in a short term basis, and we anticipate that we should be able to launch that project later this year."
The bigger project is to make repairs on the western highway from Belize City to Belmopan.
