And while the UDP was pulling a two hour plus press conference - I spoke with the PUP area rep for Orange Walk North.
That's cane country and Ramon Monchi Cervantez says that less than 4 months into the milling season for sugar cane farmers in the north have experienced some difficulty in transporting their cane to the factory due to the condition of the roads.
He says that he is trying to help them as best as he can.
Ramon Cervantes, Minister of State Education

"One of the major things as every year is the condition of the sugar roads, right? We have been addressing them as the people contact me and I try my best to have them addressed. It is very challenging you know it is every year it is the same thing because it is the same situation the resources are limited and we have to spread ourselves as much as we can so that we are able to serve and give service to everyone as much as we can. And we are continuously working as a matter of fact right now the MIDH is in the Orange Walk North constituency working on certain areas that were called to my attention and the words were really bad so we had to get urgent attention to them."
Jo-
"Can you name those roads or those areas?"
Ramon Cervantes, Minister of State Education
"They just did San Pablo, San Juan, Douglas road, and also the Savannah area in San Jose which was very bad. They have done you know the San Roman road, they have done the San Luis, San Juan road so they have been working on different, the Douglas areas, San Jose area San Pablo area, yeah."
