The Senate Select Committee held its first public hearing into the Social Security Board's financing of the privately held Intelco debt a year ago. Since that work began we've seen key players called to testify and with hearings now closed, the committee has been steadily compiling its report. Today the Chairman of the Senate Select Committee, Godwin Hulse, told us the probe is nearing its end and the public will be given the report shortly.

Senator Godwin Hulse,
"As you know we've done the public hearings and we are in the process right now of compiling the report. We have the Ts to cross, the Is tom dot, and we have had intensive meetings with the committee to ensure that when we do put out the report, what we put out is factual document. We have to check every angle, check everything, and double check again. But we're working feverishly on it and hopefully we'll be able to report to the nation in the very near future."
