And while the crowd as allowed to have its way on the street outside, the cadre of journalists were on the inside covering the event from what they thought was an approved space. But approved by who? Not Crispin Jeffries. Early this morning both the media and supporters of the United Democratic Party were caught in the wires of Mr. Jeffries. Here's how he handled our camera outside the Civic Center polling station where the media was camped out to get the latest information on what was happening inside.

Crispin Jeffries, Assistant Commissioner of Police
"Take unu picture and then unu go downstairs where we arranged for you to be under the steps. That was the arrangement, go noh."

Keith Swift,
When was that arranged?

Crispin Jeffries,
"That was arranged at the meeting...to quote miss lady, we are stifling the media...please record it."

Alfonso Noble,
Here we go again, let's dance. We di do the lee dance Mr. Jeffries.

Crispin Jeffries,
"You might end up with something else you know Noble."

Desiree Cain, Krem Radio
"Noh push the bwoy, the bwoy is going."

Crispin Jeffries,
"Go downstairs there was an arrangement made, I don't have to explain anything to unu...one of these days you know Noble, one of these days. One of these days. One of these days."

The Words Are One Thing But See the Confrontation [On Demand]

The manhandling of our camera was not the end of it. The crowd gathered outside were Jeffries' next target. For no good reason other that the crowd venting their disapproval to the roughing up of our cameraman he made his way out and walked into the crowd in a menacing, taunting manner. And, as an aside, we note the less than veiled threat Mr. Jeffries, the third in command of the Police Department made to journalists Alfonso noble, warning "next time, noble, next time..." We hope that the cameras are there when that "next time" comes.
