And while Zenaida Moya claimed victory at daybreak and toured the streets through the mid morning, 'round midnight, the People's United Party's candidate for Mayor threw in the towel. Marshall Nunez told Krem and Channel 7's Desiree Cain that while he won't concede, a victory was unlikely for his party because of, in his words, "a wave."

Marshall Nunez,
"Honestly I don't think that there is enough boxes or even the other boxes will turn the trend. The way it looks to me from working from boxes to boxes, it's a wave and like I said it's a little bit too premature and I don't want to sound like I am defeated but that is the way it is indicated in there."

Desiree Cain,
"If this trend continues, how early would you say you would concede?"

Marshall Nunez,
"No I noh concede yet. If the trend continues...actually I came down to get something to eat and I'll probably go back but once you have passed the majority of the number of boxes, then you will have to concede."

While in that interview he promised to return, Nunez never did.
