Glenn Godfrey truly made waves last week when he appeared on Mek Wave and Lik Road with Michael Finnegan to accuse the Prime Minister and Ralph Fonseca of being intimately knowledgeable about all the transactions that they now accuse him of defrauding government and taxpayers on. Today the prime minister said he knew what Godfrey was doing, but he wasn't following it every step of the way.
Rt. Hon. Said Musa,
"I could say from that a Prime Minister or any Minister follows every step of the way, every loan approved and how it is done and how it is checked out, but a Prime Minister doesn't do that and I don't know if Mr. Godfrey was saying that or whether that is the spin being put upon it."
Jules Vasquez,
He was saying that yourself and Minister Fonseca were abreast every step of the way and that in fact he was encouraged to bring in loans which were dubious.
Rt. Hon. Said Musa,
"What I would say is that whatever was the government's commitment to Intelco or indeed to securitization, the whole process of securitization in SSB, does not excuse non-performance by the private sector in carrying out its obligations and that has been the whole point that I have been making."
Jules Vasquez,
So you will proceed with civil action against his companies?
Rt. Hon. Said Musa,
"Yes we are taking legal advice right now on what is the exact amount we should be suing for and, yes, when that is determined, action will be taken."
