The case of Patrick Faber against the government of Belize for breach of his constitutional rights in April of 2005 at the UB Campus in Belmopan continued today in the Supreme Court. It was adjourned in December, and today Assistant Commissioner of Police Edwardo Wade testified that he was instructed to prevent Faber from entering the compound where a forum was being held because it was a private function.
He continued saying that Faber's presence in the area would have made matters bad for the police as tensions at the time were high. After the testimony Chief Justice Abdulai Conteh adjourned the case. It is now a matter for him to decide whether Faber's rights were breached.
