And while Montero says Imer if a favourite of the funders, the PUP sent out a release today lacerating that contractor.

A release says, quote, "the continuous awarding of very large contracts to the same contractor must lead Belizeans to believe that there is more to these contracts than meet the eye."

Julius Espat, is taking issue with the fact that yet another construction contract has been given to Imer Hernandez. Here's what he had to say about it today:

Hon. Julius Espat - Area Rep., Cayo South

"Two names come up to me when I hear contracts: Imer Hernandez, and IE, when it comes to construction of buildings, and designing of buildings. 2 names, and I'm not exaggerating. Go back into the history from 2012, and see who got the most contracts, and for what quantum."

"It cannot be that you continuous contracts to the same person who have done horrible work in the past. The Orange Walk job that he did is currently experiencing serious problem."

"And we keep pushing these people's faces. You're telling me that there are not other contractors in country? That there is no viable contractor in the west, for example? That there is no viable contractor in the south, for example? Why is it that only few names keep repeating themselves over, and over, and over."

"I have been clamouring for a small aspect of that to be done, which is - I believe that when you design a highway, you should design it for not only vehicular use, but for the people who reside in the area."

"The highway has no access to pedestrian pathways, and therefore, we're encouraging that in the future, we will have accidents where the safety of our children and our villagers will be at risk."

The Ministry of Works says that the project will be implemented with a loan from the Inter-American Development bank, a grant from the European Union - Caribbean Investment Facility, and counterpart funding from the Government of Belize.
