Faber was also pressed to comment on this week's black eye for the UDP: the Shyne Barrow domestic incident. As we've reported, Shyne's wife, Catherine Barrow made a police report saying that he had kicked her in the back and received an injury which a doctor classified as harm.
Since then, she has rescinded the report, in which she did not request court action.
Today, Faber was guarded in careful remarks about the incident:
Hon. Patrick Faber, UDP Leader-Elect
"Shyne's situation is unfortunate but we've seen what has happened in that case, I am not one to judge him but I will say this, that for me and for our U.D.P., we don't condone any kind of violence against anybody and we make that plain for the record and we also say that if any situations arise where we have to make a decision that will of course lean on the side of those who are victims of such violence that the decision be made in that regard, but we don't think that that is the situation now, given what has happened."

Reporter
"As the party leader have you met with him, have you had any discussion with him?"
Hon. Patrick Faber, UDP Leader-Elect
"I spoke to him briefly to hear what he was saying, what was his version of the events."
