Another area of perceived weakness for the UDP is Belmopan, which John Saldivar has held for three successive general elections.
Now, it's a four way race for that seat, including one independent candidate who was prominent UDP councillor. Faber said he still thinks Saldivar has it easily:
Reporter
"The PUP is already claiming victory in Belmopan. Are you in the least bit concern in terms of that seat specifically for the UDP?"
Hon. Patrick Faber, UDP Leader-Elect
"Not concern that the PUP is claiming victory at all. I listened to my friend the leader of the opposition, but this is what he has to say if he want to convince people that he will win. He have to claim so very important UDP seats. That does not mean it is happening and I am told he is talking about some poll. Well to me he has to say what he has to say. But in Belmopan I have the utmost confidence that John Saldivar will deliver the seat once again. John has worked hard, tireless in his constituency - I think that is evident, he was kept a relationship with the people. The candidate Anna Banner-Guy who is a friend of our party and of course a former UDP city councilor as well."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"A former loyalist."
Hon. Patrick Faber, UDP Leader-Elect
"Call her what you want, Jules. I think is a worthwhile candidate, but as the party leader and you've said it, she is somebody who I placed my confidence in. But there is only one UDP - you either running for the party or you're running against the party and so with all the love I have for Anna my support has got to be for the party's candidate and while there might be some who feel and to me undoubtedly there will be a few votes that will go away from our candidate as a result or a past UDP candidate being in the race, but ultimately I think John has the kind of hold on Belmopan, he is a son of the soil there and has that relationship with them despite whatever else you might think or you might say. I think he has the wherewithal to bring in that constituency comfortably."
