Fonseca has been winning elections in Freetown since 2003, and in that time has gone through three high profile UDP opponents: Michael Peyrefitte, Lee Mark Chang and Dr. Carls Barnett - whose defeats earned all of them seats in the senate, not the house.

And now, along comes the energetic Elrington - who enters the race at what can be considered a difficult pass - as the UDP goes for a fourth term. At a juncture like that, lucky is the party which can hold unto its established seats, much less flip a division from an incumbent.
