And while the Commissioner said he's powerless to stop motorcades, the UDP Leader said the PUP Leader also showed he's powerless - even though gave a directive against mounting such motorcades.

Patrick Faber seized on the opportunity to question Briceno's control of his party:

Reporter "Are you at all concerned that Johnny Briceno was unable to muster the kind of command of his party as you have whereby an instruction was given no motorcades and there was still defiance to his instructions."

Hon. Patrick Faber - UDP Party Leader "Well it may speak to his leadership style; you see I did not give my party an instruction. We jointly sat in our own homes, virtually and made a decision on Saturday and yes there were some who wanted the motorcades and wanted to try to match especially if the PUP's were going to do something and by that time we had heard that they were going to do something but ultimately it was a joint decision of our national party council and our members understood that this is not something we are going to defy but it is more than that Alfonso, it is not only following a decision that the NPC made I think even though those who thought about doing something in terms of a motorcade or some kind of showing always considered at the forefront of their minds the fact that this disease is right on top of us and that we must be responsible and so I think what our party has done in terms of some display creativity I will tell you I saw it on the part of the PUP in some respects this morning as well where they tried their best to do something but not put the health of others in harm and I commend those persons from the opposition but there can be no dispute that the opposition on several fronts this morning made some very heavy displays of disregard for our fight against COVID19."
