The leadership debate organized by the Chamber of Commerce - it was an already "iffy" proposition - since none times out of ten, these efforts always seem to fall apart.
And, according to the UDP, this one kinda has. The party put out a press release today saying that Leader of the Opposition, John Briceno has not agreed to participate in the debate. The UDP gloats and claims that Briceno is dodging its leader, Patrick Faber.
But, the PUP has a different story. It says that 12 days ago, the Leader of the Opposition's chief of Staff wrote the Chamber asking for some key pieces of information and a meeting before it, quote, "seriously considers the proposal." The PUP says it still hasn't gotten any response to this request.
Participants had until last Friday to confirm.
So who's in and who's not? We reached the Chamber President this evening who said that they can't issue a confirmation at this time and will issue a press release soon.
