Switching over now to politics
Another attempt at a political bombshell less than a week before general elections was staged at a press conference held by PUP's Cayo West candidate, Jorge Espat. Espat is claiming that a land grab situation is forming in San Jose Succotz involving the UDP standard bearer and Belize's Ambassador to the United States, Francisco Daniel Guttierez. Today he spilled the details that he supposedly uncovered.
Jorge Espat - PUP Candidate, Cayo West "Government or Cabinet has been dissolved, so yesterday there was an ad stating that the Alcalde of San Jose Succotz stating that they got 50 acres of land that was given to Daniel Gutierrez, the Ambassador of Belize in Washington and that he was practically selling it for 20 thousand dollar an acre, that's a million dollars. How can they afford to give 50 acres of land to one single person and then will take away land from the person doing agriculture to try to subdivide it to give it to the residence and also, parcels that are under a probate trying to take it away to give it to the residence of this constituency, that is illegal and actually there's also an ad with the voice recordings of the minister stating that he is in lands department trying to get the documents for the residence. Cabinet is dissolved, that is illegal, there is no ministers anymore. Those incidents and acts they are doing are going to be revised to make sure we rectify it when we form government."
Espat has been under scrutiny himself lately after it was discovered that he was not registered to vote and that he was actually born in Guatemala.
