And, finally tonight...

The Reparatory Justice for the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery in British Honduras Motion, 2021 was introduced in the House today. It's from the CARICOM REPARATIONS COMMISSION to, quote, "pursue reparatory justice for the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery and Native Genocide in the Commonwealth Caribbean; a "Ten Point Plan for Slavery Reparations" which calls for, among other things, the research and preparation of claims setting out the moral, ethical and legal case for the making of reparations by the United Kingdom." End quote.

It's a very progressive motion and all the members embraced it - it even got the Prime Minister to admit that, well, he's black-ish:

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Slavery in British Honduras motion 2021 and certainly as prime minister I take great pride that our goverment can be so progressive as bringing this bill forward to the national assembly and a bill that unites all of us for once in supporting this motion. Myself, whilst I might not be as dark as my other brothers, but I do have - a portion of my family also is black and its something that I embrace fully and that is why I also am very happy that we can come here and unite as one people, as leaders of this country to present this motion. I fully support this motion."

The house meeting is currently on break but will resume shortly and you can catch it live on our Facebook page. You can see all the highlites of that full sitting in tomorrow's news.
