And, while the Public Service Union has its concern about that new overtime regime - the union is more concerned about what they feel is a pattern of behavior from the Prime Minister's Office - which they claim is always ignoring the union.

The PSU president says they want to be treated like a stakeholder, not a nuisance:

Dean Flowers - President, PSU
"We are the legal representatives of public sector workers and we need to know where we are, what is government's official position and when it is that we will be adequately compensated or the 10% reinstated along with the unfreezing of increments and to date we have not received any response from them. It's another indication that this administration has an axe to grind with the worker of this country."

Jules Vasquez
"You all have heaped praise on members of the government negotiating team, you all have said Francis Fonseca, Cordel Hyde, people like that have been exemplary in their negotiations in you all."

Dean Flowers
"Clearly those senior ministers are out numbered where principals is concerned, cabinet is a 'sick place' Jules. Look at what happened with the 10% salary cut and non salary cut for CEO. Minister Fonseca came out swinging and he said absolutely not, that will not fly, the DPM said I will fight that, The cab sec was out of order, none of that came to us but clearly the cab sec has his clique that out number these honorable gentlemen who would want to stand up and do the right thing. There is group in cabinet who is more committed to preserving the party."
