He's a Doctor of Business Administration - and also probably the youngest Assistant Commissioner of Police in the police ranks - but ACP Doctor Anthony Rosado is going to be number two in charge of the Police Department.
A release says "the Commissioner of Police has made recommendation to the Security Services Commission for ACP Rosado to fill the vacancy of Deputy Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Operations and Crime."
In so doing, Rosado leapfrogs many other far more senior ACP's - but it is a deliberate choice to bring in new blood. But, organizations being what they are, we do expect that he will face some pushback within the senior ranks.
The post has been vacant since Deputy Compol Edward Broaster retired in December - but the political directorate has been reluctant to give the green light to Rosado - mostly because of his perceived politics, we suspect. But now that he has it - it puts him in prime position to eventually take over from Compol Williams who has been a steadfast supporter.
No word yet on who will take over the always over-heated Eastern Division from Rosado.
